My name is Jaisul. I'm a UCL Economics graduate and I've tutored A-Level and International A-Level Mathematics since 2017. Having studied the same specification as today's students, I understand the content, exam technique and common areas of difficulty. With 8 years of experience and thousands of teaching hours, I've developed a clear, structured and relatable teaching style that helps students build confidence and understanding from the very first session.
My passion for Mathematics
I was first introduced to A-Level Mathematics in sixth form, where I had an excellent teacher. It quickly became one of my favourite subjects and complemented A-Level Economics very well. Mathematics was essential for my goal of studying Economics at a top university — UCL required an A* in A-Level Maths, which I achieved.
At UCL, I studied Economics; a highly mathematical degree, covering modules in econometrics, statistics and applied mathematics. This deepened my understanding of mathematical concepts an,d their real-world applications. I graduated with a 2:1 in 2020.
Having studied the same specification as today's students, combined with the advanced mathematical training from my degree, I'm in a strong position to support and mentor students effectively — and it's something I genuinely enjoy doing.
My passion for Teaching
My interest in teaching began with the challenges I faced during Year 13. Our Maths teacher left at the end of Year 12, and we were required to complete much of the course through independent study. Despite this, I was determined to achieve the A* grade I needed to study Economics at UCL, which had always been my goal.
While working through the textbook, I found that although many online resources existed, they often provided explanations that were difficult to remember or methods that weren't the most efficient. This meant I wasted too much time trying to learn the content and didn't have enough time to properly practice exam questions.
Since completing my A-Levels, I have helped hundreds of students achieve A*–B grades in Mathematics, and I have created my own practice questions and worked solutions to provide students with clear, reliable material. You can read my 94+ five-star reviews here.

The notes I originally made for myself have been improved and expanded so that every student I work with has access to concise topic summaries. I am also developing a growing bank of worked solutions to help students understand how to approach exam questions under exam conditions.
I relate strongly to students who find Mathematics difficult at school, and I always teach in a way that keeps topics simple, structured and easy to understand.
How I can help
I'm happy to work with any student who would benefit from clear explanations and structured support in Mathematics. All lessons are taught by me and are available as one-to-one sessions or small groups. You can find out more here.
